Over the counter products can work remarkably well for certain people. “One size fits all” is the pattern with those products, and it only whitens the front six teeth at the most. If the size fits you, then that is great. The reality is that one size does not fit most people, and generally, people want to whiten further back, almost to the molars.

Our professional whitening process involves making a custom fitted soft rubber tray (bleachguard) that holds the gel on the teeth. We use Opalescence take-home kits, and in two to three weeks, significant whitening can occur.

Based on his extensive experience, Dr. Raymond can assess approximately how white your teeth can become. There are no guarantees however. Sometimes tooth whitening is not the best option, but that does not mean that you cannot have a brilliant smile. Dr. Raymond can provide other options including surface polishing to remove stains or porcelain veneers to cover resistant stains.
